Editorial: The Railroad Commission of Texas can’t be trusted to regulate carbon capture

More than two-thirds of the campaign donations to the sitting commissioners have come from oil and gas allies, according to Commission Shift, an activist nonprofit watchdog. The state’s loose ethics laws permit all three commissioners to trade oil and gas stocks. One question the EPA should be asking: do they really believe the Railroad commissioners will crack down on an industry that lines their pockets?
