Trump’s policies threaten to hobble Texas’s next generation of energy leaders. Texas has installed more wind and solar power than any other state. Our innovators are developing new ways to store energy, from big batteries to geothermal fractures. Trump’s policies will allow China to seize these technologies, too.
“Our goal should be to reduce emissions for the lowest cost possible. You need emission data to do that,” said Virginia Palacios, executive director of Commission Shift, which fights to protect rural Texas landowners. “Ending the program will reduce government efficiency.”
